Thanks for dropping by. It seems you’re interested to know about me & this blog. Well about this blog, I started blogging around 2007 to jot down my thoughts. You’ll find me writing, brainstorming, essaying thoughts on startups, technology, entrepreneurship, venture capital & many things in-between. Below is a brief summary about “yours truly“.

For your ease, here’s a short (really short) biography in chronological order. Hope you get to know “yours truly“:

• 1982 – Born in a small village in the state of Orissa (now Odisha), India. Then bought up in Calcutta (now Kolkata).
• 1991 – Started to learn painting. After doing so for 3 years, dropped out of it.
• 1997 – Got introduced to computers. Started in little bits with BASIC. Then COBOL.
• 1998 – Got enamored by operating systems. Started childish tinkering inside of Windows 95 then (soon got a released version of Windows 98 to tinker with).
• 1999 – Started using ‘www’ more widely. During that time, also started admiring Bill Gates for creating MSFT | Windows | Office suite.
• 1999 – Got introduced to computer gaming. Started playing PC version of Diablo. Later during college days, got completely hooked to AoE (although later never liked AoM much).
• 1999 – Opened my 1st Email account with Rediff. Later shifted to Yahoo. Now have dumped both of them.
• 2000 – Along with a friend, tried selling software CD-ROMs with curated pre-loaded school courses (primarily exam papers etc). The idea tanked.
• 2001 – Enrolled for electronics engineering at Nagpur University.
• 2002 – Started taking lot of interest in VLSI & Embedded system design. Learnt VHDL (its a hardware description language used in electronic design automation).
• 2003 – Along with 2 friends, fabricated a low cost vending machine using PIC microcontrollers with VHDL. Used PIC series 16FX84.
• 2004 – Got introduced to C. Typed my 1st “hello world” program.
• 2005 – Dumped the idea of working for Indian IT companies for obvious reasons.
• 2006 – Enrolled for MBA program at IBS, Hyderabad.
• 2006 – Became an Apple fanboy. Started disliking MSFT | Windows. Started admiring Steve Jobs.
• 2007 – Started this blog.
• 2008 – Joined Godrej.
• 2009 – Quit Godrej. Joined H-Farm Ventures.
• 2009 – Quit H-Farm Ventures & founded WanaMo which was the 3rd pivot.
• 2010 – WanaMo got acquired by Group Buying Global A.G. & Smile Group. Wanamo got rebranded to DealsAndYou.
• 2011 – Started off with RoR. Shelved it for specific needs to Python / Django.
• 2011 – Creator of “Made in MC (MiMC)” & inStartup newsletters (currently on temp hiatus).
• 2011 – Quit DealsAndYou.
• 2012 – Started Instamojo.com. Currently founder & CEO building @Instamojo.
