Google Thinks BPL Mobile Still Exists as URL
A week back BPL Mobile changed its name to LOOP Mobile (which was much needed though)
along with few more changes – one of them was changing the url of their site from BPLmobile.com to LOOPmobile.in
Infact BPL LOOP mobile is spending quite some moolah on online advertising (which you can see if you google “BPL mobile” or “LOOP Mobile“). Interestingly, they also say that its Mumbai’s newest network boasts about 20 lakh customers with latest NGIP (Next Generation Internet Protocol) technology. [#fab I say]
But I remember when I used its services some 6-7 years back. Then it was quite different from its present nondescript status. However, I’m not going to lament on it further and try to bring in one interesting thing I noticed today while I was trying to get some info about it in Google.
Google thinks that BPLmobile.com still exists by its url I mean. Below is a screenshot of the same:
Infact, it places BPLmobile.com as no. 1 search results and LOOPmobile.in as no. 2 as pointed in the image above. How come? It’s been more than a week that this news came out and then they have changed their url since then and google haven’t changed it? REDUNDANCY is something which Google can be accused off sometimes!

It's not Google's fault as such. Google takes it as a mere redirection of old site to new one. Its indexing bots will take sometime to understand that the old one is redundant and new one is live.
Nonetheless, I wrote this more with a funny angle
