2. WordPress going to launch WP 2.7 with lot of cool features: WordPress which has become a standard for majority of blog owners launched it 2.7 version. Thought this is only available for blogs on for now, but it will be released for self-hosted blogs on December 10th. WordPress 2.7 comes with a huge number of changes, a good chunk of them making some older plugins redundant. This will be a huge upgrade for all blog owners.

3. Pownce shuts down its shop: Kevin Rose’s one-year-old microblogging/file-sharing service Pownce has been acquired by Six Apart and the service will be shut down on December 15. Pownce just launched last year in a private alpha and finally went public in January.  It looks like the service will basically die, and that Six Apart just wanted to reel in the staff. I even got a mailer regarding the same – I believe they mailed more or less everyone who has an account to inform the same (Tweet Link). But wasn’t there any other way out?

4. India ranks fourth in world with 81 million internet users: The Internet Governance Forum has released these statistics on the eve of its 3rd four-day global conference held at the Hyderabad International Convention Centre on December 3 according to ET. According to this ET report, there 81 million Internet users in India. Infact, India has been ranked fourth among the top ten nations in the world with 81 million internet users even as the world aggregate touched 1.35 billion by the end of 2007, according to figures released by Internet Governance Forum. US leads the chart with 220 million internet users followed by China (210 million) and Japan (88 million).
